The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience. – Eleanor Roosevelt

Day 10 and this nearly brings us halfway through the final meditation experience of 2017…

So many insights today and so many things to ponder…speaking of gaining creative control over time and as the Message of the Day states: when we step into present-moment awareness, we open ourselves to the infinite creative possibilities of the now. This is how present time can inspire us, refresh us and allow the qualities of our true self – such as love, joy and understanding – to shine through.

One of the journal prompts asked us to bring awareness to the enemies of renewal, which is the old, and to write down some old habits, beliefs, behaviors, etc. that feel too stale to continue. One that I keep coming back to is the desire to employ a regular yoga and exercise practice. So, my action steps to achieve this continue to evolve but I have come up with the following:

  1. Look at upcoming class dates/schedules for desired yoga practice and commit to those dates;
  2. Create a wellness calendar that incorporates purposeful varied physical adventures to save from monotony and falling off task by being bored;
  3. Invite friends to join the adventures and plan ones that are just for me or one more friend.

I know that I feel optimally well in mind, body and spirit when I move my body. The satisfying feeling from physical exertion, and time spent in purposeful practice whether it be yoga, hiking or exercising never fails to rejuvenate and uplift me. You would think that it would be a no brainer to do these things regularly. Especially if I acknowledge their great benefit but I am human like everyone else and have been prone to finding a million reasons why I don’t have enough time in a day to engage these activities. My wellness calendar is in the works and I’m looking forward to filling it!

You know we love hearing from all of you – leave us a comment and tell us what you think of this post as well the overall experience so far! This is the last meditation experience of 2017 hosted by Deepak Chopra and Oprah Winfrey via the Chopra Center Meditation organization. It just started on October 30th and we’re really excited with the theme: Making Every Moment Matter.
