If you want to conquer the anxiety of life, live in the moment, live in the breath. – Amit Ray

We’re easing into Week 2!!

Day 8 – The Wounds of Time Can Be Healed – brings us another opportunity to continue this journey into exploring time, our relationship with it and cultivating new habits and mindsets about it. The day’s centering thought: I heal my past by being in the present continues to speak to the work we’re doing to release the hold our old hurts have on us, or rather, that we continue to hold on to.

In today’s meditation, we learn that we can transform our wounds into wisdom. We have the capacity to take any situation and discover opportunities for change, healing, forgiveness, awareness, and more. It was mentioned that spiritual disturbances lose their power when we cease to resist them—I personally believe this to be true.

These emotional debts, as they’re called, can burden us and provide a reason to remain entangled in mental, emotional, and spiritual turmoil. At times, the weight of these emotions becomes so intense that we even experience physical discomfort. I assume many of us do not find this state of being enjoyable. Would you agree?

I want to dial in on something Deepak shared as we prepared for meditation…

He mentioned that the old saying “time heals all wounds” can be seen as a passive approach to healing. It might suggest that our pain will naturally fade with time, without our active involvement in the healing process. This perspective relies on time doing the work for us.

However, it’s crucial to recognize that time alone doesn’t motivate us to get out of bed, take steps forward, and engage with life—it’s our own initiative that drives us. Time provides us with space and opportunity, but we are the ones doing the work. This message resonated strongly with me. It’s about acknowledging and giving ourselves the credit we deserve.

Overcoming past wounds or staying present to avoid anxiety about the future requires effort, our own effort. The time it takes can vary, but the fact that we keep living and moving forward shows our capability to bring about change and healing in our lives.

We look forward to your thoughts and feedback on this meditation experience – your voices matter greatly! This is the last meditation experience of 2017 hosted by Deepak Chopra and Oprah Winfrey via the Chopra Center Meditation organization. It kicked off on October 30th and we’re really excited with the theme: Making Every Moment Matter.
